Climate Frontline all pages - low res.pdfJenny, one of the authors of the report, was born and brought up in Salisbury and attended South Wilts Grammar school.  Now working for Self Help Africa she is invloved in working in many of the poorest countries in Africa helping the rural subsistence farmers adapt to the changes in the climate which they have been experiencing for a number of years.
The report has been launched in London and in Brussels to draw the attention of World leaders to the efforts being made by the people themselves with the support of small NGOs and their local partners.

Age of Stupid – further Salisbury showing October 22nd

The Age of Stupid is back by popular demand. Following a sell-out performance in September there will be a further showing of this blockbuster film about climate change at 7:30pm on Thursday 22nd October at the Studio Theatre Ashley Road Salisbury – cost £5.

To avoid disappointment you can reserve a seat in advance by emailing us (see ‘Contact’ page). Reserved tickets need to be picked up at the theatre by 7:15pm on the night.

Wiltshire Council affirm support for Nottingham Declaration & 10:10 Campaign

There was great concern across Wiltshire when 9 councillors signed up to a motion put to the Wiltshire Council meeting on 15.9.09 requesting that the Council withdraw from the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change (a commitment to tackle the causes and effects of Climate Change).

However there was cause for celebration when the motion was resoundingly defeated – the final recorded vote showed 6 in favour of the motion and 84 voting against (i.e. in support of the Declaration).  Not all of those who had signed up to the motion in fact supported it after the debate!

Help save the 2 degree limit – G8 Summit in Rome

Avaaz.org is encouraging all climate campaigners and anyone who cares about the global effort to retard man-made global worming to make their voice heard in a worldwide petition to be presented to the G8 representatives in Rome this week.

Avaaz says:

The G8, meeting in Rome this week, is weighing a pledge to limit global warming below 2 degrees centigrade, the level at which scientists say a deadly climate chain reaction becomes dangerously likely. Canada, Japan, and Russia are trying to veto the 2-degree limit — and an immediate global outcry is needed to rescue it.
