Green Business winners

On 15 February, annual business awards were made by the Salisbury and District Chamber of Commerce.
A panel of judges from SW Agenda 21 made the Green Business Award which was sponsored by Salisbury District Council. Read the judges’ comments and verdict:

Fair Trade Fortnight begins next week!
Events organized by the local Fair Trade Group and some supermarkets:
28 February - “Fair Trade Goes Floral” at Waitrose (Churchill Way West
Salisbury).
29 February – Fair Trade Lunch, Salisbury Arts Centre (off Bedwyn Street) from 12.00 to 2.00 pm.
The main dish that day will be taken from Sarah Stancliffe’s new book, “A Book of Simple Feasts. Cooking for a crowd through the Christian Year” and she will be present to sign copies of her book. The recipes focus on inexpensive, plentiful ingredients in season, Fair Trade foods and locally sourced produce.
5 March – Farmers Market will also have some additional stalls of a Fair Trade or ethical nature.
Green Business Award 2008

It’s time to enter the Salisbury & District Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s 2008 Business Awards. This includes the Green Business Award sponsored by Salisbury District Council. The award will be judged by a team from South Wiltshire Agenda 21.
Application Forms are available from Miss Dunning on 01722 322708.
The deadline for applications is Friday 25th January. THE DEADLINE HAS PASSED. THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED.

SWA21 scoops Wessex Watermark Award

South Wiltshire Agenda 21 has been awarded a Wessex Watermark Award for our newsletter ACTION 21.
The award will be presented on Tuesday 22 January 2008 at 10 am during the weekly Charter Market in Salisbury. The giant cheque will be handed over in the Farmers Market section indicating our support for local produce. This will be followed by coffee in town.
If you are in the market on that Tuesday morning please join us and swell the crowd.

Items for loan or hire from us

Two sets of display boards are available for loan to affiliated groups for meetings and events. One set of boards is free standing, the other is for a table top display.
A small marquee 6m X 4m which will withstand wind and rain can be hired for a small fee for events.
