BiodiversityNature and Biodiversity Information on the SWA21 Biodiversity working group is coming soon. In the meantime, read some of our stories on biodiversity, including organic food, water, climate and the natural environment. While we add stuff to these pages, read some thoughts on the importance of biodiversity… As the pressures on out wildlife and countryside increase we need places where nature can thrive. This could be a nature reserve but is just as likely to be a local park. The management of land is vital for both wildlife and people and the benefits for people’s health of access to natural greenspace are beginning to be fully understood. Issues such as domestic and agricultural use of water and the pressure for building land have the potential for a huge impact on wildlife. A sustainable future for wildlife is dependent upon people’s attitudes and actions as much as the fact that it is essential that the right policies and legal framework is pursued at every level of Government. Local action on biodiversity is spear-headed by Wiltshire World Changers. |
